Peter does not succumb to D'Arnie's provocations. A fight breaks out. Olga, being in the arms of Alexander, suddenly faints. Elizabeth resolutely goes to her husband's chambers, Czartoryski cannot stop her. When Elizabeth approaches, D'Arnie leaves Peter and disappears without a trace.
